Bye Bye, Art

The humorist Art Buchwald passed away a few days ago. His brand of humor was something that is not seen today in writing almost anywhere, and that's sad. It's great that his body of work will live on, and I predict that as time passes he will be better known (and appreciated) in death than in life. I suppose anyone who wins a pulitzer is appreciated a great deal, however.

No one was immune from Buchwald's pen. The Washington elite was obviously his favorite target, and in Washington, there's no lack of targets on a daily basis. I only wish Art could have lived long enough to enjoy the Pelosi/Reid three ring circus. What a roaring good time that would have been!

No matter what your political leaning, take time to read Buchwald. If he can't make you laugh and appreciate the idiocy of Washington, you're way too partisan.
